The police have also convened an emergency meeting with key stakeholders and community leaders to address the situation and prevent further escalation.
Security Measures and Police Appeal
In response to the violence, the state police authorities have deployed a unit of the Police Mobile Force alongside other tactical teams to the affected area to prevent further unrest. The Commissioner of Police has urged residents to maintain peace and refrain from acts of violence or retaliatory attacks.
“The need for peaceful coexistence among all groups cannot be overemphasized. Residents are encouraged to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement as investigations progress,” CSP Yamu stated in the release. He also warned against unlawful gatherings that could further aggravate tensions.
