Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has pledged a generous donation of N250 million to the Ibom Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development Centre (Ibom LED) for the purpose of training and mobilizing approximately 400 entrepreneurs within the state.
During the official launch of the Made in Akwa Ibom Trade Fair at the Ibom-LED Headquarters, situated on IBB Avenue, Uyo, Governor Eno lauded the ingenuity of the local populace engaged in diverse trades and encouraged entrepreneurs to leverage the trade fair as a platform to showcase their innovations and creativity.
Akwa Ibom State Governor allocates funds that would be utilized by the business school
The Governor outlined that N50 million of the allocated funds would be utilized by the business school for student registration and training, funded by the state government. Additionally, upon completing their training in various fields, each student would receive a startup grant of ₦500,000 to facilitate the establishment of their businesses.
Governor Eno underscored his commitment to fostering the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the state. He affirmed that his administration was dedicated to providing a conducive business environment, thus fulfilling his campaign promise to promote and support entrepreneurs.

He stated, “While budgeting for the anniversary, I had allocated ₦250 million. I am now donating ₦250 million to Ibom LED, with the following allocation plan: ₦50 million is for the school, serving as training fees for students. As you graduate them, ensure they obtain NAFDAC certification for products. After their training, each graduate will receive ₦500,000.”

The conversion of the Ibom E-Library into an Entrepreneurial and Leadership School was motivated by the need to repurpose the abandoned facility, allowing local residents to access quality training without the necessity of traveling to business schools in Lagos or abroad.
The Governor expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Trade and Investment, as well as the Ibom-LED team led by Director General Mrs. Ekaette Umoh and Senior Special Assistant on Entrepreneurial Development Mr. Ime Uwah for swiftly organizing the exhibition and aligning with his vision for the Entrepreneurial Center.
