Anti-Graft Group Demands EFCC, ICPC Probe of Ex-Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel

The Network Against Corruption and Trafficking has allegedly called for a comprehensive investigation into former Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel’s eight-year tenure.

The organization has petitioned both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to scrutinize Emmanuel’s time in office.

In a recently released petition signed by operational manager Stanley Ugabe, the group argued that Emmanuel should be compelled to respond to unspecified allegations, drawing comparisons to other probed governors.

“If immediate past governors like Ifeanyi Okowa and Yahaya Bello can be invited, probed, and face prosecution, Udom should not be exempted from giving an account of the allegations against him,” the organization reportedly stated.

The group emphasized that no former governor should be above investigation, suggesting a potential legal and financial review of Emmanuel’s gubernatorial period.
