Ben Murray-Bruce Predicts World War III, Says Nigeria Will Remain Safe

Ben Murray-Bruce, the founder of Silverbird Group and former senator representing Bayelsa East, has made a bold prediction regarding the future of global conflict. In an interview with Global Affairs expert Dane Waters on Tuesday, Murray-Bruce warned of an impending World War III, driven by rising global tensions, unchecked access to nuclear weapons, and the increasing number of aggressive world leaders.

He emphasized that while the war could bring devastation to many regions, Africa particularly Nigeria would remain untouched. According to him, Nigeria’s peaceful foreign policy, absence of nuclear ambitions, and non-aggressive stance position it as a safe haven in a potential global crisis.

“We’re in big trouble. As long as the world continues to produce the kind of leaders we have today, I see World War III on the horizon, and it’s going to be terrible,” Murray-Bruce warned.

“But the beauty of it, if there is any, is that Africa especially Nigeria will be spared. We don’t have nuclear weapons, we don’t seek territorial expansion, and we maintain good relationships with our West African neighbours.”

Murray-Bruce further stated that Nigeria could play a humanitarian role by offering refuge to displaced populations from the West, including Americans, Israelis, and Iranians.

“While the rest of the world may be engulfed in conflict, we will be here to welcome those seeking safety. We’ll ensure visitors are granted visas and treated with dignity, not as undocumented immigrants.”

He attributed the rising global instability to poor leadership, criticizing the prevalence of authoritarian and reckless leaders across the world.

“There is too much violence today, and access to weapons is far too easy. The real problem lies in leadership many of the world’s leaders are trigger-happy and unfit to govern.

“It’s not the people who cause wars; it’s the leaders. And as long as we continue to elect unfit individuals into power, war remains inevitable,” he said, referencing the conflicts of 1917, 1939, and 1945.

His remarks come at a time of heightened tension between Israel and Iran, with reports of mass displacements and fluctuating oil prices further fueling global uncertainty.

Murray-Bruce’s statement is a sobering reflection on current world affairs, offering both a dire warning and a glimmer of hope in Nigeria’s potential to remain a zone of peace.
