On Sunday, the Federal Capital Territory Administration confirmed its intention to step up operations aimed at impounding all vehicles and arresting owners who fail to comply with existing norms and regulations.
Over the weekend, it impounded 24 vehicles and seven motorcycles for various offenses in various regions of the territory.
Deborah Osho, Head of Operations for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS), who led a combined team of task force officers on enforcement operations, stated that the relevant authorities have committed to reinforcing attacks against all forms of nuisance in the city.
Osho stated that because taxi and other vehicle operators have refused to comply with guidelines and the enforcement team, he will not relent in tormenting and prosecuting them.
“Today’s operation,” he said, is all about cleaning up the city. As you can see, this is the popular Garki Market, which we have just cleansed of annoyances such as unauthorized parking lots. This operation began in Areas 1, 3, and Apo Bridge and has already been expanded to the Garki market regions. We want to ensure that traffic flows freely.
“The owners of the vehicles impounded for various offenses will appear in a mobile court.” Vehicles that are not roadworthy must be repaired. The Mobile Court justices will also decide on their fine. We have seized around 24 automobiles and 7 bicycles.”
Concerning the environmental aspect of the operations, Abuja Environmental Protection Board’s Deputy Director of Monitoring and Enforcement According to Kaka Bello, the raided locales were spots where human activities continued to be a nuisance.
If you are unable to deliver, consider redeployment immediately,” Wike advises FCTA and FCDA directors.
Bello stated that the city enforcers’ increased struggle against defaulters aimed to ensure that Abuja remains a city of pride. Source For more news click here
