Imo gubernatorial race: Uche Nwosu backs Uzodinma, rules out re-election, and Uzodimma unveils his running partner, fires deputy Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has formally announced his running companion, Chinyere Ekomaru, ahead of the November 11, 2023 governorship election.

Uzodimma defended his decision to replace his deputy, Placid Njoku, with Mrs. Ekomaru, saying, “The choice of a new running mate does not imply I have issues with the current Deputy Governor, Placid Njoku.”

“It is the result of ecumenical and political permutations.”

With this, Uzodimma has stepped up his campaign to take on the governorship candidates of the Action Alliance, AA, Lincoln Ogunewe; Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and the Labour Party, LP, Senator Athan Achonu, among others.

Senator Ogunewe and Senator Anyanwu are from Imo East.

Senator Athan represents Imo North, and Senator Uzodimma represents Imo West.
With this, Uzodimma has stepped up his campaign to take on the governorship candidates of the Action Alliance, AA, Lincoln Ogunewe; the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and the Labour Party, LP, Senator Athan Achonu, among others.

Senators Ogunewe and Anyanwu are from Imo East, Senator Athan is from Imo North, and Uzodimma is from Imo South.
