Jamb Registration: Candidates registering for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have expressed satisfaction with the seamless process on the first day of registration on Monday.
Speaking in Ibadan, several candidates lined up to register praised the easy experience compared to previous years. “The registration process was not difficult at all. Once you generate your code, you just buy your form and fill it out,” said Temiloluwa Erogbogbo.
Her sister, Ebunoluwa Erogbogbo, initiated her registration online on Sunday before visiting an accredited center to complete the process today. She agreed it was straightforward without major hitches.
Some candidates did lament having to repeatedly sit for UTME exams due to not meeting cut-off marks for their desired courses. “This is my third attempt trying to study medicine,” said Adebisi Raheem.
At the JAMB zonal office in Ibadan, coordinator Olugbenga Akintola said adequate arrangements were made to enable smooth registrations. He added that there has been no system overload so far, with candidates purchasing PINs over the past few days. No major complaints have come from registration centers either.
The seamless process is a welcome development for UTME candidates seeking university admission this year. Jamb Registration appears to have ironed out issues that previously led to delays and frustration. With registration open till March 31st, 2024, the agency will hope these early positive experiences continue.
