Sloot Confesses to Killing Natalee In a long-awaited turn of events, Beth Holloway finally gained insight into the fate of her daughter, Natalee, who went missing in Aruba in 2005. Joran van der Sloot, the 36-year-old man long suspected of involvement in Natalee’s disappearance, pleaded guilty in a Birmingham federal courtroom on Wednesday to charges of wire fraud and extortion. As part of the plea deal, van der Sloot agreed to reveal to Beth Holloway the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death and the location of her remains.

Natalee, who vanished during a high school graduation trip to the Dutch Caribbean island, was last seen in the company of van der Sloot. Despite suspicions surrounding him from the outset, Aruban authorities failed to build a solid case against him.

While already serving time in Peru for the murder of college student Stephany Flores in his Lima hotel room, van der Sloot faced additional charges in the United States. In 2010, federal prosecutors in Alabama charged him with extortion and wire fraud, alleging that he attempted to extort $250,000 from Beth Holloway in exchange for information about Natalee’s death.

U.S. Attorney Prim Escalona emphasized the significance of holding van der Sloot accountable for his exploitation of a mother seeking closure regarding her missing daughter. However, for Beth Holloway, the guilty plea marked a bittersweet resolution. Speaking outside the courthouse, she declared, “I can tell you with certainty that after 18 years, Natalee’s case is solved as far as I’m concerned. It’s over, it’s over. Joran van der Sloot is no longer the suspect in my daughter’s murder. He is the killer.”

While specific details about the events of that fateful night are yet to be disclosed, Holloway indicated that van der Sloot had fatally attacked Natalee after she rejected his advances, disposing of her body in the ocean. Addressing van der Sloot directly, she asserted, “You are a killer, and I want you to remember that every time you hear that cell door close.”

Sloot Confesses to Killing Natalee, the judge sentenced van der Sloot to 20 years in a U.S. federal prison, with plans for him to return to Peru to complete his existing sentence for Flores’ murder. Should he serve more than 20 years there, his return to the U.S. for the extortion and wire fraud charges will not be necessary. Source thedailycourierng news
