Red Lobster recently bid farewell to its beloved $20 Ultimate Endless Shrimp deal as the company faced unexpected demand and declining profits. The popular all-you-can-eat promotion, initially introduced sporadically, became a permanent fixture on the Red Lobster menu in June. However, the company experienced a higher proportion of customers opting for the promotion than anticipated, leading to an $11 million operating loss.
To address the imbalance between surging demand and reduced profits, Red Lobster gradually raised the price over the past five months. What began as a $20 deal has now transitioned to $25. Thai Union Group’s Chief Financial Officer, Ludovic Garnier, acknowledged the initial low price was intended to attract more customers to the restaurant.
Despite the price adjustment, Red Lobster remains committed to keeping the Ultimate Endless Shrimp promotion on its menu, considering it an iconic offering. Garnier emphasized the need for careful consideration regarding the entry and pricing points for this promotion.
The Ultimate Endless Shrimp deal allows customers to choose two shrimp options initially and order more shrimp throughout their meal. The offer includes one side dish and the famous Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Shrimp options under the deal include Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Coconut Shrimp, Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, and Garlic Grilled Shrimp Skewer.
While Red Lobster fans may need to shell out a bit more for their favorite endless shrimp, the promotion is expected to remain a fixture on the menu, providing seafood enthusiasts with a delightful dining experience. Source thedailycourierng news
