Telangana Election Results In a stunning victory, the Congress party has secured over 64 seats in the 119-member Telangana state Assembly, signaling a significant shift in power. The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) trails behind with 39 seats, while the BJP is leading on 4 seats. The election results raise the pivotal question: Who will be the next Chief Minister of Telangana?

The Congress leader, Revanth Reddy, who played a crucial role in the party’s campaign, has stated that the high command will decide the Chief Minister’s face. However, he has not ruled out the possibility of himself assuming the role. The Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, has lauded the people of Telangana for their confidence in the Congress and their decision for change.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who contested from two constituencies, is facing a setback as he is currently trailing in Kamaredy. Revanth Reddy, the state Congress president and the main challenger, is leading in Kamareddy against KCR. However, KCR is ahead in Gajwel.

The Election Commission reported a 60 percent voter turnout, and the counting of votes began at 8 am, starting with postal ballots and followed by Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The Congress’s comfortable halfway mark victory has triggered celebrations outside the party office in Hyderabad, with chants of “Bye bye, KCR.”

The Congress victory in Telangana is seen as a significant development, especially as the party prepares for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The results could strengthen Congress’s presence in the south, along with Karnataka.

Revanth Reddy, representing Malkajgiri Constituency in the Lok Sabha, has been the face of the Congress campaign. He took over as the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee in June 2021. In the crucial seats of Kamareddy and Kodangal, where Revanth Reddy contested, the trend is in his favor.

Telangana election results for the next Chief Minister are pending, the Congress’s victory in Telangana is attributed to various factors. The party’s manifesto, promising cash transfers, pension schemes, free electricity, and other benefits, seems to have resonated with a wide voter base. The Rythu Bharosa guarantee for agricultural prosperity and promises for various sections of society contributed to the Congress’s electoral success.

As the political landscape in Telangana undergoes a transformation, all eyes are on the Congress high command to decide the next Chief Minister, marking a new era in the state’s governance. Source thedailycourierng news
