The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has ordered a thorough investigation into complaints of inadequate feeding for troops stationed on the frontlines in the North-East region, where they are combating insurgency

In response to these concerns, the Chief of Army Staff has assured the public and its personnel that it takes these allegations seriously and places a high priority on the welfare of its troops.

Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, emphasized that the welfare of troops is a top priority under the current leadership of the Nigerian Army. He stated that providing sound administration and ensuring a highly motivated force are essential aspects of the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy.

Nwachukwu further explained, “The NA (Nigerian Army) takes these allegations very seriously, and the Chief, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has ordered an immediate investigation into the complaints to verify their accuracy and understand the circumstances.”

Troops have been assured that both the supply chain and the quality of food provided to them will be thoroughly examined as part of the investigation.
