WORLD SAFETY DAY 2025: ENGR. (DR.) BEMIGHO OFOEYENO FNSE, FNICE, FNISafetyE CELEBRATED FOR CHAMPIONING EQUIPMENT SAFETY

As the world commemorates the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers (Akwa Ibom State Chapter) has celebrated Engr. (Dr.) Bemigho Ofoeyeno FNSE, FNICE, FNISafetyE for his exemplary leadership in promoting safety culture and technical excellence across engineering sectors.

Engr. Ofoeyeno, a distinguished Vice President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) for 2023 and 2024, and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers (FNISafetyE), was honored with a Certificate of Commendation following his outstanding presentation on “Mechanical Integrity and Equipment Safety” during the Institution’s Monthly/Technical Session held virtually on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

In his powerful session, Engr. Ofoeyeno emphasized that mechanical integrity is foundational to accident prevention, environmental protection, and operational efficiency. He highlighted best practices such as preventive maintenance, regular inspections, equipment lifecycle management, and the critical role of safety protocols in safeguarding lives and assets.

Presenting the award, Chapter Chairman Engr. Ndifreke Inokon MNSE, FNISafetyE, lauded Engr. Ofoeyeno as a trailblazer whose advocacy aligns seamlessly with this year’s World Safety Day theme, stressing the urgent need for proactive safety measures in an ever-evolving industrial landscape.

“As we celebrate World Safety Day, it is important to recognize leaders like Engr. (Dr.) Bemigho Ofoeyeno, whose work continually inspires a safer, healthier work environment for all,” Engr. Inokon said.

The recognition not only underscores Engr. Ofoeyeno’s outstanding contributions to engineering safety but also reinforces the Institution’s dedication to advancing global best practices in safety management.
