Former Deputy Senate President and 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has assured party members that the internal crisis among its leaders will soon be resolved.

Speaking at stakeholders’ meetings in Obiaruku and Kwale, spanning Ukwuani and Ndokwa West Local Government Areas, Omo-Agege urged party members to move past the 2023 election setbacks and focus on ensuring victory in the 2027 elections.

Call for Unity and Strategic Planning

Acknowledging the resilience of APC members in the last election, Omo-Agege dismissed claims that the party’s loss was due to a lack of support. Instead, he emphasized that disunity and strategic missteps contributed to the defeat.

“We must not dwell on past mistakes. We need to work harder, stay united, and strategize effectively to secure victory in 2027,” he said.

The former senator particularly called on party leaders in the Ndokwa Nation to put aside their differences and work as a cohesive team.

“No one enters an election divided and expects to win. We need everybody to come together and work as a team. The end of one election marks the beginning of another,” he stressed.

Achievements and Future Plans

Highlighting his contributions to the state, Omo-Agege pointed to the establishment of the Federal University of Health Sciences in Kwale. He argued that the institution would drive economic growth and provide quality education for residents of Delta State.

He reiterated the need for unity, discipline, and strategic planning within the APC to challenge the dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

“To overcome the PDP’s influence, we need to remain focused and organized. We must learn from past experiences and be proactive in our approach,” he stated.

Pledge of Support for Tinubu’s Administration

Reaffirming his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Omo-Agege urged party members to work towards securing APC’s victory in both the state and the 2027 presidential election.

“We must win Delta State for APC in the next presidential election to sustain President Tinubu’s economic transformation agenda. The policies under this agenda have already yielded positive results, including increased revenue for states and local governments, improved economic growth, reduced imports, higher exports, and increased income for farmers,” he asserted.

Omo-Agege assured party members that all efforts would be made to resolve internal disputes and present a united front against the PDP in 2027.

“I am committed to the APC 100 percent and willing to work with all party leaders, members, and supporters to ensure our success,” he concluded.

The Road Ahead for APC in Delta State

Despite Omo-Agege’s assurances, internal divisions remain a significant challenge for the Delta APC. Whether the party can consolidate its ranks and effectively challenge the PDP in the next election remains to be seen. Analysts suggest that without genuine reconciliation and a clear strategy, the APC may struggle to achieve its political ambitions in the state.
