The Chief Executive of the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), Abbas Umar Masanawa, was arrested, but the Department of State Services, known as DSS, has been mute about the incident.
Masanawa was reportedly taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the ongoing investigation into corruption involving the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

However, when questioned about the development, agency spokesman Peter Afunanya remained silent.
